In Judges 13, Manoah asks the angel who appeared to him and told him about the birth of Samson, “What is the manner and mission of his life?”
Many Christians who talk about mission and evangelism may easily overlook the importance of the manner in which the mission is carried out.
It matters how we warn people about the coming judgment of sin and the eternal punishment waiting for those who do not trust Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Samson, child born to Manoah and his wife, was to live as a Nazirite. A Nazirite was a person who had a distinct lifestyle of abstaining from haircut, dead, and alcohol. God in his grace used Samson despite the breaking of his vow to deliver the Israelites.
Jesus delivered and rescued God’s people in order that they may live a life worthy of a calling they received (Philippians 1:27).
Is your manner of life worthy of the gospel of Christ? Remember that the manner of life either hinders or helps the mission of Jesus.
