Samuel Choi is a confident pioneer and proven cross-cultural leader. He is married to Carol and they have a daughter, Karis, and a son, Kaden. They live in Irvine, CA. His passion is to see the power of the Gospel bring revival and renewal in the 21st century through churches planting churches.
He was born in Seoul, Korea and came to the US at the age of 15. He attended UCLA where he received a call to ministry (Matthew 6:33). He pursued this vision and calling both academically, completing a Master of Divinity degree at Westminster Seminary California and pastorally, by serving in Korean American churches in the Los Angeles area.
He was ordained in the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) in 2003 and served as EM pastor in WA. In 2007, Samuel and Carol were assessed and approved to plant a church by PCA and joined Mars Hill Church’s church planter program in 2008. They planted Mars Hill Church Federal Way in 2009.
Samuel and Carol moved to Irvine, CA in 2012 for their second church plant, Center Church, affiliated with Acts 29 Network and Spanish River Church Planting Network. They planted Center Church in Irvine in September 2013 and started their own Farmers insurance agency the same year.
