Do you listen more than you talk?

Holy Spirit

See the Computer
You see the world – through computer screens small and large.
You listen to the world – bad news, good news, people, places, all kinds of porns – any addictive videos that appeal to your eyes (animal, human, and machine).

Know the Challenge
People find it hard to listen more than to talk because they feel like they are not heard.
Besides, after listening so much stuff from the world, at the end of the day, it’s more comforting to talk by way of consuming contents and listen to yourself vicariously by immersing yourself in games, drama, music, and other activities that do not require personal presence to really listen.

Feel the Pain
Feel the pain of not being heard. Feel the pain of being alone. Feel the pain of addiction, abandonment, and abyss.

See the Cross
You see Jesus.
Jesus listens to you – your accusations, complaints, excuses, desires, frustrations, grumbling, questions and whining.

See the Counselor
Who listens to you?  Who do you talk to besides yourself? The Holy Spirit listens and talks to you.
The Holy Spirit knows your pain and is ready to heal you and help you so you can listen – listen to God, to yourself, and to others.

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
Psalm 61:1-3

Listen to a Real Person
Find one person today to ask questions and listen to.  It can be yourself. Then write down on a paper what you are saying and how you really feel. It can be your family, friend, acquaintance, or strangers.

Listen. See. Feel. Do.
